Born and raised in Mosinee, Central Wisconsin, Brent was raised with strong values and a strong work ethic—his father a mill worker and former mayor, his mother a small-business manager. As Mayor, he led population growth that outpaced Marathon County and Wisconsin, attracted multiple business expansions, and secured a downtown hotel during difficult economic times.
A fiscal conservative, Brent kept property taxes low while funding infrastructure and public safety, delivering disciplined budgets that earned the city expenditure restraint aid from the State of Wisconsin.
