Yauo Yang

Yauo Yang is a pastor, former educator, and Iraq War veteran who recently made his mark on the Wausau community. At 45, Yang holds a bachelor's degree in teaching, a master's degree in educational leadership, and a master's degree in Christian studies. He brings eight years of classroom teaching experience, five years working at a district office, four years as a summer school principal in the Wausau School District, and four years as an adjunct professor at UW-Stevens Point.
Yang led the field in the April 2026 Wausau School Board race, topping the ticket with 8,231 votes — more than any of the incumbents who also won seats. A longtime community member and parent of six children in the district, Yang ran on the belief that every child deserves a strong education and every parent deserves a voice. He will fill the seat vacated by Jennifer Paoli, who did not seek re-election, and was sworn in on April 27, 2026
